Biography
The Whatevers, consisting of Kim (almost fifteen years part of the popular DJ twosome Ed & Kim) and Dim (almost fifteen years in college), met back when people still used that awful word “Electrohouse” and when really no one cared about Drum & Bass! Kim and Dim mostly ran in on each other in clubs surrounded by artificial fog, drunks, neon lights and cigarette smoke. Judging from their looks they could easily set up a Shoegaze band, but back then the fashion police would arrest you for wearing lumberjack shirts. So Hip-Hop became their first of many bonds.
It was only a matter of time till Kim and Dim got along really well. It was even a smaller matter of time until they start pissing each other off 24/7. But - much to the disgruntlement of anyone sharing the same room - they could brighten one another with a strong passion for musical diversity.
Amused and strongly inspired by eclectic jocks such as 2ManyDJ’s, Diplo, The Glimmers and Optimo, Kim and Dim took their adventure to the outside world (mostly nothing more than just a few lifted friends). In the great spirit of the rebellious Rockabilly era, they came up with the name “The Whatevers”, two words that should perfectly describe the whole philosophy behind this project: shamelessly flirting with 50 years of edgy music without alienating any Garage Rockers, Punkers, B-Boys, Mods, Britpoppers, No Wavers, Rivetheads, early Ravers, Dancehall heads, Northern Souls and anyone from Bristol!
Please note: they do take requests (but only from Jay-Z and Beyoncé).
